Our Counselor Program is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and spiritual foundation to mentor effectively and become an integral part of the JesusWalk community. As a JesusWalk Counselor, you’ll have access to a variety of learning opportunities, including:
Illustrate how to deepen your own faith and encourage students in their spiritual journeys.
Demonstrate leadership skills by taking on responsibilities, leading activities, and guiding students in various group settings.
Create mentoring relationships with students to guide them spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Identify and address potential risks, learn safety protocols, and prioritize the safety of everyone at JesusWalk.
No prior counseling experience? No problem! We’re seeking individuals with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for connecting with youth from diverse backgrounds. As a JesusWalk Counselor, you will:
Build meaningful relationships with young participants.
Provide guidance and support throughout their faith journey.
Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Facilitate engaging activities and discussions.
Collaborate with fellow counselors and program leaders.
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a baptized believer of Christ
Be an active member of the Christian Church
As a JesusWalk Counselor, your commitment runs from January 2025 to December 2025. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
Background Check: Successfully complete a background check.
Orientation & Training: Participate in our comprehensive orientation and training.
Monthly Meetings: Attend monthly counselor meetings to stay connected and informed.
Virtual Small Groups: Facilitate two rounds of virtual small groups during Spring 2025 and Fall 2025.
Youth Retreat: Lead a small group at the JesusWalk Youth Retreat in Summer 2025.
All-Inclusive: Lodging and meals at all retreats and counselor events.
School Credit: Internship and volunteer hours.
Career Boost: Access letters of recommendation.
Leadership Skills: Essential development and training.
Faith-Based Community: Supportive and welcoming.
Growth: Personal and spiritual development.
Fun Activities: Creative and engaging.
Networking: Connect with like-minded individuals.
